Hello World
Outside Lands 2024 wrapped up on Sunday night, after headliner Sturgill Simpson carried the festival home on its third and final day. Before the alt-country troubadour, whose recent album Passage du Desir became our second-highest rated album of 2024 last month, turned Golden Gate Park inside out, many Paste favorites were in San Francisco. On Friday, the Japanese House, Odie Leigh, underscores, The Last Dinner Party, Real Estate and billy woods took their turns, while Sofia Kourtesis, Romy, Men I Trust, Charley Crockett and Grace Jones lit up the grounds on Saturday.
But Sunday was one for the books, as Amen Dunes, TV Girl, Slowdive and Wisp all dazzled. But, as has been par for the course this festival season, it was Chappell Roan who commanded the stage and triumphantly painted the town red. Blistering through her Song of the Summer, “Good Luck, Babe!,” and tracks from her 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, it’s clear that Chappell’s stardom is here to stay. It was a weekend to remember, one that will keep the rest of us at bay until the festival returns next summer.
Our photographer Kris Lori Fuentes Cortes was on-site capturing the action, so check out our official Paste portrait gallery of Outside Lands 2024 below.
