Tech gifts and reusable water bottles
It might seem early, but I’ve already started thinking about Christmas gifts. A few gifts I was planning to buy my loved ones are on sale this Prime Day, including Apple AirPod Max headphones. These sleek headphones aren’t cheap, so I definitely want to snag them while they’re on sale. More gifts on my radar: the Hatch Rest Baby Sound Machine for my sister who’s a new mom and a reusable water bottle for my mom who could use a new one. —Meaghan Kenny, commerce editor
An upgraded kitchen set
I’m definitely purchasing some new kitchen staples. I’ve a had a couple of pots in the last few months start to show wear and tear (admittedly, one pot lost it’s handle in the middle of me making dinner), so I’m ready to get a fresh new set with more longevity. I’ve also decided to pick up a vegetable chopper to act as an extra set of hands and help me a bit, especially when I’m meal prepping and have to chop things in bulk. —Paris Wilson, commerce writer
Comfortable sneakers and stylish flats
I recently had a baby, and was shocked to find that my feet grew an entire size over the course of my pregnancy (who knew!). I am now over four months postpartum, and sadly, my feet have not shrunk back to their former size, leaving me in the expensive and overwhelming situation of replacing my entire shoe collection. I’m a sneaker girl, so this Amazon Prime day I’m looking to replace a couple pairs of my day-to-day shoes like these Adidas Sambas, and add a chic pair of loafers or flats to my wardrobe as well. —Mercedes Bleth, global associate director, social
Spacious jewelry cases
I’m learning new ways to maximize the space in my luggage as I gear up for more travel. When it comes to my jewelry, I always overpack. I struggle when it comes to sorting my earrings, necklaces, and rings efficiently and staying organized when on-the-go. This is a huge deal for me— my jewelry is the cherry-on-top to my outfits. Yet, I always wind up bringing such random pieces in a hurry when packing, because there’s so many options. This Prime Day, I plan on making my life a little bit easier and a little more fabulous. The Landici jewelry box is chic and compact for packing my necklaces, rings, and smaller earrings in my suitcase. A huge plus: it doesn’t have too many compartments (I find with more compartments and a busier design, the supposed-to-be-organized box becomes an even bigger mess). I imagine the stylish Vlando Viaggio case will be perfect for my larger earrings that don’t fit well in a standard travel jewelry box. The circular shape of the holders are critical to prevent any of that annoying tangling that happens when there’s too many chains in one place. —Jessica Chapel, editorial assistant
Digital art necessities
It’s about time for me to succumb to the pull and get an iPad for travel, which is much lighter and easier to lug around than my giant laptop. I love the ability to read books, watch Netflix, and create digital art all on one platform. While I’m at it, I’ll pick up a new stylus for greater control while creating art and the ability to write and take notes digitally by hand. —Jamie Spain, travel bookings editor
New decor to reign in the new season
With the start of a new season (and leasing cycle), I’m looking to redecorate my space. My living room walls are pretty bare, so I want to go all out and create a gallery wall. I’m looking to get brightly colored, blocky frames that will stand out just as much as the photos. I’m hoping that a long, thin mount will make the TV look like less of an eye sore among the art pieces. As the days get shorter and the afternoons bleed into evenings, I’ll be picking up a reading lamp to sit next to my couch so my read-a-thons can go uninterrupted. —P.W.
Trendy fall heels and boots
It’s about time I trade in my summer sandals for a closed-toe kitten heel I can wear out to dinner. I’m planning to grab a pair on sale, ideally one with a low heel that will match any dress or skirt I decide to wear. While I’m browsing Amazon’s shoe sales, I might also grab a new pair of fall boots. —M.K.
Travel accessories and marathon essentials
Since I started using the Hatch Restore to fall asleep (and wake up), I’ve found it more difficult to fall asleep without a sound machine of some sort. I’ve been eyeing the brand’s Rest Go for this exact reason—it’s the perfect size to pack for trips, whether I’m staying in a hotel, Airbnb, or at a friend’s house. I’m also in the market for more Cadence capsules—I use the original size ones on nearly every trip I go on, and I’ve been eyeing the larger stackable versions for longer vacations. Lastly, I’m training for a marathon right now, so I’ve been flying through hydration packets and tablets; I’m hoping some of my favorites from Nuun and LiquidIV are on sale so I can stock up on more. —Madison Flager, senior commerce editor
Comfy cardigans and packable jackets
I’m always cold, whether I’m sitting on a plane or in the office. And now that the weather is cooling down, it’s time for me to refresh my fall wardrobe and outerwear collection. I desperately need a few new cozy cardigans and a lightweight, packable jacket. Prime Day typically includes some great deals on clothing essentials, so I plan to take full advantage of this year’s sales. —M.K.
Upgraded home essentials
Every once in a while I get the urge to do a 180 and completely change everything about my home, from art to floor rugs to even the soap dispenser in my bathroom. Needless to say, I’ve been all over the home decor section during Prime Day. My favorite order thus far has been the Bedsure satin pillowcases. Having tightly coiled 4c hair, I was long overdue to try out silk pillowcases to protect my hair from shedding and drying out. I love how vibrant the colors are and the affordability. —Kayla Brock, associate social media manager
I’m actually trying to reduce the amount of stuff I own (anybody want a full set of the six Austen novels published by Oxford World’s Classics?) so I’m not totally in the market for new things—except for linens. After recent stays at luxurious hotels in Sydney like the Park Hyatt and the Capella, I’m now hellbent on raising my home linens game. My heart says “Frette or bust,” but I do not have thousands of dollars to spend on a sheet set, so I’m looking at some of these nicer-than-usual buys and waiting for them to be reduced by at least another 20 percent or so for Prime Day. The savings will go toward my Frette duvet fund. Yes, I am accepting donations. —Matt Ortile, associate editor
Restocking on holy grail skincare products
Skincare was a huge purchase for me as well. I had been eyeing the I’m From Milk Rice Toner, but at the hefty cost of $23 a bottle, I put it on the back burner since I already had one that I liked. So when I saw it marked down to $13, I had to get it! Along with the Cosrx 6X Peptide Collagen Booster Serum which is 50 percent off. I’ve been working hard on fading years of dark spots that I’ve endured from the sun or picking at my pimples (don’t do it) and am loving the Korean beauty sales going on. —K.B.
With chillier days ahead, I’m looking for skincare products that will help to lock in moisture. I love the Nécessaire body wash and the L’Occitane Cleansing and Softening Almond shower oil, but some days it’s hard to choose between the two. Both smell amazing—Nécessaire has a notes of eucalyptus while L’Occitane has more of a nutty smell. I love a set, so the days I choose Nécessaire, I’ll pair the body wash with lotion to stay consistent with the scent. The lotion is super lightweight and dries quickly, making it easy to put on in the morning. While I do love a great duo, I also appreciate a product that can cover a lot of bases (especially when luggage space is limited); the Ouai body scrub is gentle enough to use on your whole body—yes, from head to toe. I love how deeply it exfoliates but also hydrates my skin, so it’s not left feeling stripped. —P.W.
I’m nearing the end of a few go-to Tula products—the under eye balm and moisturizing primer, specifically—so if they’re on sale, I’ll stock up on a couple of each. I use the balm regularly, but it’s especially nice to have on hand after a long flight. —M.F.
A reliable travel steamer
As I frustratedly put on yet another wrinkled shirt the other day, it dawned on me that I could just purchase a steamer. So that’s what’s on my wish list for this sale: a good steamer, large enough to smooth some serious wrinkles, but small enough to stow in my luggage. —M.B.
Viral lip balms
I’m on a mission to stock up on all my wish list hair and beauty finds during the sale. I confess that TikTok has inspired most of these, and for good reason. Who hasn’t been amazed by the magical properties of Chris Appleton’s Pure Wow hair line (frizz-free hair here I come) or the Laneige lip mask, which has now become my holy grail lip product, and the brand’s lip balm, too. In my quest for glass skin, I’ve been dabbling in LED therapy and have my eye on the Project E Beauty Skin Rejuvenation Photon Mask. It has seven LED color settings, and promises glowy results. I’m going to round out my stash with Avène’s thermal spring water spray, a refreshing staple for warm weather trips. —Pallavi Mohan Kumar, senior visuals editor
A sleek, satisfying tech kit
I’ve been looking for a travel organizer that sorts out my always-tangled tech—and dare I say, looks good while doing it. I think the Bellroy kit might be it. I love how this has room for all my accessories, including larger ones, and zips out flat for easy access. Plus, it’s made from recycled fabric, and comes in a range of fun colors. Sign me up for the Bronze, please and thank you. —Arati Menon, global digital director
