While there’s no wrong way to go about a holiday season manicure—there are so many different decor aesthetics to choose from!—you really can’t go wrong with a classic dark red polish. Besides encapsulating that cozy winter feel, it looks good with absolutely anything—glamorous metallic gowns included.
On December 5, Eva Longoria attended the Opening Ceremony of The Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia wearing a plunging gold dress and a glimmering cranberry-colored manicure to match.
Created at Nail Sunny salon, which has 13 locations around the world, her long, rounded-almond nails were polished to perfection with the dark red hue, catching the light just so as she walked the red carpet thanks to what appears to be a slightly shimmery top coat. You know how people roll cranberries in sugar for a festive flair? That’s the situation here, minus the texture.
In true Longoria fashion, the theme for the rest of the glam was “glowy.” A golden shadow look by makeup artist Elan Bongiorno echoed the metallics in her plunging, off-the-shoulder gown while a glossy nude lip pulled in the gloss of the nails. Hairstylist Justine Marjan tackled the hair, pulling Longoria’s long dark locks into a deep side part that worked its way into an intricately twisted updo.
Another hint at the season, the hairstyle looked a little like a tape-on gift bow, the kind you could never craft yourself but are always glad to receive. It’s unclear exactly how Marjan created the sculptural updo, but it looks like she started by parting Longoria’s hair into a deep side part and sweeping it into a pony, leaving one strand out at the font. From there, she twisted and wrapped the pony around itself to form the intricate bun. The finishing touch was gelling and swooping that loose front piece back to join the rest of the bun.
While you may need to enlist the help of an expert to get Longoria’s hair for yourself, her cranberry nails make for a festive mani you can DIY in 10 minutes flat.
