The cruise industry is booming, but it’s also facing increased challenges environmental responsibility. Thankfully, some companies are going above and beyond basic government regulations and international treaties with more ambitious (and achievable) sustainability goals. That includes MSC Cruises, which is on a course to attaining net zero carbon emissions. And as I found out on the MSC World Europa, the line is already on the fast track to not only reach that goal, but embraces a zero tolerance policy on all waste. Nothing is burned, or thrown overboard. Even waste water is treated by a state of the art system that releases nothing harmful or toxic back into the ocean.. Here’s a small sampler of my report.
