Kim Kardashian is giving a whole new meaning to French girl chic with a super unexpected outfit combination. On May 14, the Skims founder was spotted doing a little retail therapy in Paris in a streetwear look that is a total departure from her signature Balenciaga catsuits and pantaboots. The TV star wore an ivory velvet, feather-trimmed robe held closed using a tan leather belt with silver hardware. The top of the garment fell slightly off her shoulders, revealing a white lace bralette.
And if the lingerie outside didn’t stop you in your tracks, then perhaps the juxtaposing blue baseball cap will. Kardashian topped off her look with a brimmed hat embroidered with a white logo. She accessorized with stacks of ring on one hand and beige pointed-toe pumps.

The shopping excursion comes one day after Kardashian made an appearance at the Assize Court in Paris to testify in the trial for her 2016 robbery. Her court outfit featured a structured black peplum blazer with accentuated shoulders, layered over a matching maxiskirt, and styled with Alaïa sunglasses. In a total power move, the social media maven accessorized with over $7 million worth of jewelry—perhaps a nod to the jewels stolen from her during the heist. The “grandpa robbers,” as they are referred to, broke into her hotel room, held her at gunpoint, and stole millions of dollars worth of jewels, including her engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West.

During her testimony, Kardashian recalled the traumatic event saying “I absolutely did think I was gonna die.”
“They picked me up off the bed and and grabbed me and took me down the hallway to look for more jewelry, more stuff,” she recounted, adding that at one point her robe fell open. “I’m certain that’s the moment he rapes me. I say a prayer to mentally prepare myself.”
She added, “At that point I was sure that’s when they were going to shoot me. So I said a prayer for my family and my mom and my sister and best friend[…] I hoped they would have an OK life after.”
Kardashian was left tied up in the bathroom of her hotel room. The trial began last month and is expected to conclude later in May.
