The UGGs Replacing Our Tazz Slippers This Fall

ugg tazz replacement

Fall fashion is in a league of its own. Between the layers, rich color palette, and distinguishing balance of cozy and chic, the ‘ber months are highly anticipated by fashion girls for a reason. Among the shift in textures and tones, another component that drives the excitement for fall fashion is the shoes. While every autumn inevitably arrives serving up new and exciting trends (well hello, boat shoes), there’s one contemporary fall shoe truth we’ve come to rely on: There will be an “it” UGG of the season. This year, we’re looking at replacements for last year’s most popular UGG, the Tazz.

As a millennial, I’ve always had a soft spot for UGGs (yes, even when they were considered cheugy and unfashionable). Imagine my joy when they came back in style several years ago and became the crème de la crème of fall footwear. If you’ll recall, last fall you couldn’t go a thumb swipe on Instagram or TikTok without seeing an influencer rocking an UGG Tazz.

While we still love our Tazz (I personally still see them all over the ‘gram), this year there are several other styles rising in the popularity ranks and, consequently, selling out at rapid speed. Between the return of old favorites and the release of new silhouettes, UGGs will truly dominate fall footwear yet again. Perhaps at a level we haven’t seen since the early 2000s.

As you’re plotting your seasonal outfits and determining which shoes to purchase this fall, these are the Ugg Tazz replacement styles you’ll want to snag now before they fly off shelves and become a distant Christmas wish list item.

2025’s UGG Tazz Replacements

Again, no one is giving Tazz the boot from their closet. These cozy UGG slippers are still incredibly trendy and easy to incorporate into fall looks. But, if you’re like me, it’s hard to resist adding a new shoe or two to your fall outfitting rotation.

This year, there are several front-runners gaining traction on our beloved Tazz. Among the group include the UGG Ultra Mini Platform, the new UGG Micro, and the UGG Goldenstar Clog, which will—mark my words—be the most popular UGG slippers this fall.

Additionally, in an unexpected turn of events (get ready for this, millennials), UGG Classic Tall II boots are coming back on the scene. I recognize this may be shocking, so I’ll now give you a moment to process. Or, if you’re like me, celebrate.

How to Style UGG Fall Slippers

If you’re in the market for UGG Tazz alternatives (or perhaps have already picked up a pair), rejoice knowing you can style them similarly to your beloved Tazz. The following outfit formulas are well suited for a new pair of Micros or Goldenstar Clogs.

With Black Denim and a Suede Jacket

I can’t think of a single fall UGG style that wouldn’t look sublime as part of this outfit formula. Suede is trending hard for fall 2025 and suede jackets, in particular, have a way of elevating any outfit in the most autumnal way possible. Add black denim, which is a visual contrast against the spectrum of soft brown shades UGG is best known for. Wear for tromping around town with a PSL in hand.

With a Leggings and a Bomber Jacket

As I said, there’s a high probability that the Goldenstar Clog will be the UGG of the season, arguably making them the best UGG slippers of fall 2025. This style capitalizes on the urban aesthetic the UGG brand leans into, making them an ideal candidate for styling with leggings, crew socks, and a bomber jacket for a practical cool-girl ‘fit.

With Straight Jeans and a Statement Sweater

If you’re unsure which jeans to wear with your UGG slippers or clogs, opt for a straight leg style. This silhouette is versatile and veers towards trendy without being a full-on skinny jean (I recognize we’re not all ready to go down that road again). A cozy statement sweater balances out the simplicity of the UGGs and denim by adding visual interest.

How to Style UGG Boots for Fall 2025

The renaissance of tall silhouettes is opening the door for new styling opportunities. Try the following if you’re looking to deviate from Tazz and Tasman this autumn.

With a Denim Skirt and Long Sleeve Tee

This outfit formula is on my own personal “to wear” list. It gives 2009 and—as a millennial myself—the nostalgia is too good to resist. Don this cozy fall ‘fit for those 70-degree days that aren’t quite cool enough for jeans and a jacket.

With a Quilted Jacket

Quilted jackets have been on many moodboards these last several years and—with this season’s love affair with the Western aesthetic—certainly aren’t going anywhere any time soon. A more refined style, such as the UGG Ultra Mini Platform, aids the cabincore outfit in feeling intentionally styled.

With Loose Denim and a Sherpa Jacket

Skinny jeans may be back, but that’s not to say we don’t still love a pair of loose denim. A sherpa jacket ups the cozy factor and modern oval sunglasses keep the look chic. This easy-to-thrown-on formula is well suited to run the gambit of fall activities—from leaf peeping to pumpkin patch moseying to visits to the local cidery.

With a Feminine Top and Hair Accessory

For bulkier UGG styles (such as the Ultra Mini Platform or Classic Mini Platform), visually balance your outfit with a soft feminine top and corresponding hair accessory. Colors that are unconventional for fall (such as pink or light blue) can set your look apart among the sea of neutrals being worn by most this time of year.

With Slouchy Socks and a Cable Knit Sweater

When it comes to styling UGGs, there’s nothing more natural than pairing them with a cozy pair of slouchy socks and a classic cable knit sweater. For bottoms, rotate between mini skirts, jeans, trousers, or—if you’re feeling particularly preppy–a pair of trouser shorts. If you need a comfortable work-day ‘fit, the latter two can turn the look from casual to office-ready.

With a Mini Skirt and Suede Handbag

Suede handbags are dominating this season and are truly one of those pieces that will never go out of style. A dapper pleated mini skirt and polo sweater add feminine charm to the ensemble, casually capturing a Gilmore Girls essence in the process. Add a trench coat to combine classic and modern styles, elevating the outfit even more.

With a Pop of Red

That’s right, we’re still in love with pops of red—especially during the fall. This styling hack is seasonal, bold, and oh so chic. If you picked up a red handbag, scarf, or hair accessory last fall when this trend was surging, pull them out again with confidence and style with your neutral-base UGGs.
