Filming is officially underway on Season 2 of Landman, and Kayla Wallace is celebrating her return to the world of West Texas oil in style. The actress took to social media with two posts this week, marking her arrival back on set. The first, a simple but exciting “Round 2” caption, signaled her return to filming. The second followed shortly after, with Wallace writing, “So happy to be back with this team” alongside a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos featuring crew members, outdoor locations, and what looks like another long Texas day under the sun. And you know it’s a hot sun down there.
Wallace plays Rebecca Falcone, a sharp liability lawyer recruited by oil tycoon Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) in Season 1 to clean up the legal mess left in the wake of Tommy Norris’ (Billy Bob Thornton) increasingly messy dealings. Despite being just a few years out of law school, Rebecca proved to be no pushover, even if she’s initially taken aback by the no bullsh*t way of life. It’s good to see her returning, though, as her personality was a spiky one and a nice contrast to the other prominent women in the show, with Michelle Randolph and Ali Larter‘s blonde excitement proving a bit much for some viewers.
What Can We Expect From ‘Landman’ Season 2?
As Landman barrels toward Season 2, Wallace’s return suggests that Rebecca is going to continue to be central to the ongoing conflict between oil powerhouses, local communities, the mafia, the gangs, and the personal battles of those caught in the middle. So, basically, more of the same just turned up to 11. With Monty Miller dead following the Season 1 finale, the legal and corporate fallout is likely to be massive — and Rebecca is right at the heart of it as Tommy’s closest legal representative.
Landman is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and is based on the Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown and explores the rough, real-world politics and personalities fueling the West Texas oil boom. Alongside Wallace, the ensemble cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Michelle Randolph, and James Jordan.
Season 1 of Landman is streaming now on Paramount+, and production on Season 2 is expected to continue throughout the spring. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates on Landman Season 2.
