This may be the last time this event may be held. The Reno Landscaping Committee of the park it is held at wants to plant trees all over the park. Well, that doesn’t work very well. Right now, there is a campaign to save the event that contributes to the local hotels, casinos and restaurants throughout the Reno Area an estimate of $5 million. This show is FREE for all to see. The public sits at the park next to the ballons and the race begins. People come from all over the USA and only invited balloonists can participate. On average there are about up to 120 balloonists. Anyway the picture was taken back in 2003.
