Ryanair’s agreements with approved online travel agencies call for them to pay a more than 40,000 euro ($46,000) integration fee despite the airline’s statements that they gain the right to sell its flights “cost-free,” according to the basic terms of an agreement obtained by Skift.
Partner OTAs are also charged roughly €30,000 ($35,000) for major subsequent redesigns or system updates, according to the agreements.
Two OTA sources confirmed the terms, and a Ryanair spokesperson acknowledged the fees.
“OTAs are charged a one-off fee for tech integration support provided by Ryanair’s development team,” said the Ryanair spokesperson. “This fee covers the technical assistance required by OTAs to connect their systems to Ryanair’s platform.”
