Viola Davis Wore the Ideal Bob For Your Spring Mood Board

Viola Davis Wore the Ideal Bob For Your Spring Mood Board

Viola Davis has won many awards over the course of her illustrious career, and I’m sure there are many more to come. Still, I’m waiting for the day when she wins a prize for having great hair. Think about her gorgeous curls at the 2025 Golden Globes! Or all the great curly crops we’ve seen? The honor is a long, long time coming and just as warranted as her 2017 Oscar.

So… if nominations for whatever award that is are being accepted right now, I’d like to throw in her most recent bob for consideration. The following is my pitch for why it deserves all the accolades.

Viola Davis’s Classic Bob

On April 8, Davis attended a showing of her new thriller, G20, in New York City (she plays the president in it!!). For the event, she styled her hair in an entirely presidential, entirely classic bob.

Trimmed right at her jaw in an impressively blunt chop, the style curved in toward her face to hug her pretty features. The look also featured a lovely fringe that fell slightly to one side thanks to the part of her hair. The bangs landed just over her eyebrows so as not to disturb her shimmery red eyeshadow.

Davis has been fond of the hairstyle (I believe it’s a wig created by celebrity stylist Jamika Wilson) for a while. She wore a similar look for a movie showing in London and recent appearance on Good Morning America, only pausing to swap in some curls while doing press in Rio.

And yet, this version of it is a favorite. Paired with that deep maroon lip, it’s utter perfection.

So, what does one wear with the perfect bob and maroon lipstick? Deep red Gucci Signora slingback pumps and a matching red dress and leather jacket, according to Davis.

“You’re always looking for that guy, that person like the Stevie Wonder song says, ‘Show me how to do what you do. Show me how to do it.’ I’m looking for those women who know how to do this part of life,” the actress previously told Byrdie.

Me too, Viola. But did you know that you’re the one we’re all looking to? For hair inspo and life wisdom in general.
